Sail away with me

I am in love with this outfit from the Chanel Resort 2010 collection. OK, I’m gaga over all the outfits, but this one really made me swoon. Just check out those lace-up, monochromatic, peep-toe boots. That’s three trends, in one shoe! Mr Lagerfeld, women all over heart you very much.

At the moment, I’m sitting in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable. I have the waves crashing onto rocks in front of me while I sit chilling in a very chic lounge bar. It’s a little windy outside and there’s a splattering of rain, but nothing can bring me down right now. Corsica is stunning.

Last week Thursday I left London for France. So far, I’ve spent two days in Paris, five days in Nice and yesterday, I arrived in Corsica. So now you know why I haven’t been blogging for a while. But I promise, I’ll share my spoils with you… Starting immediately.

First up, while sauntering along the Champs Elysees in Paris I headed into the Nike store only to find the coolest pair of treads that form part of Nike’s hot new ladies footwear range. Nike have created their own gladiators and basically, I want a pair.

They cost and come in black and white.

Alexa’s shoes

As of yesterday, I started following Alexa Chung on Twitter hoping that she would have some regular fashion gems to share with me. But alas, I soon discovered that she’s not much of tweeter despite having 119 010 followers waiting for her to share fabulous moments of her life with them.

But it wasn’t all in vain. I did discover a pair of instantly adoring shoes by Miu Miu that she posted a pic of in February.

“Congrats Miu Miu, you’ve made the perfect shoe. :)” – @alexa_chung on 24 Feb 2010.

You, your shoes and 72

Entrant, Gibran Ramos

I know it’s the end of the year and right about now you’re most likely having to beat yourself over the head with your pillow before you wake up and literally fall out of bed. I understand – I’m gagging for a December holiday too.

But if you can summon up the last few creative musings and get it caught on camera, you could stand to win a brand new wardrobe for the party season. Hehehehe… Thought that might get your attention.

Right, now that you’re all perky: Head to www.jimmychoo72.com and take a snap of you and your shoes and the number 72. Your efforts could win you 7 pairs of Jimmy Choos and 2 handbags.

You, your shoes and 72 is the slogan behind the new campaign being launched by Jimmy Choo, Project PEP.  In conjunction with the Elton John AIDS Foundation, the project is designed to support the Simelela centre in SA. Many of the winning images will be showcased at the global launch of Project PEP at Selfridges London on 29th October and at Jimmy Choo Project PEP events globally. Jimmy Choo will donate 25% of the net sales from Project PEP to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Fashion with a cause… I like.

Who wants a Mojito?

And I’m talking about the shoes, not the cocktail…

The Mojito shoe by Julian Hakes

This unique shoe design is the brainchild of London-based architect Julian Hakes. It’s made of carbon fibre with leather on the foot side and rubber on the walking/wearing side.

The shoe is a single piece of material that wraps around your foot by starting under the ball of the foot and then over the bridge, then sweeping down below the heel before then twisting back on itself to provide the support for the heel and ankle.

Fancy hey!

PS. If you’re wondering why he named it Mojito… “This form felt light and airy on the foot. So we called it the ‘Mojito’ as it was rather like a twist of lime skin.”

final-to-use

The Brazilian shoe brand, Pour La Victoire has created these gorgeous leather sandals that I’m positively drooling over! Sigh. You can have them for $225. A bit out of my price range I’m afraid. But yes, a girl can atleast dream… And drool.
